The physiological benefits of a regular yoga practice for athletes are now quite well documented. Performance-related improvements in flexibility, strength, recovery time and cardiovascular performance are widely accepted as common outcome. Factors such as reduced inflammation and soreness, as well as improved immune function, have also documented. All of these have been recognized to contribute to a decreased risk of injury.
The psychological benefits of yoga and meditation-based interventions with athletes have also been researched widely, with overwhelmingly positive outcomes! Significant decreases in performance-related stress and anxiety, as well as enhanced self-awareness and an increase in the ability to focus are just a few gains that can be counted toward a healthier and higher-performing athlete.

My focus in-season is on injury-prevention, managing the effects of extreme physicality and strengthening the mind for stressful situations in order to optimize performance level, in both practice and on game day.
I combine a therapeutic approach to the body in tandem with proven effective breathing and meditation practices that balance the nervous system, improve focus, reduce and manage anxiety, increase self-confidence, relieve pain and speed up the healing process.

My goal is to help athletes feel better and perform at a higher level — mentally, physically and emotionally. This typically results in them performing and feeling stronger and more resilient in everyday practice and on game day.
I teach athletes how to use mindfulness meditation tools, breathing practices and yoga postures and sequences to relieve stress and tension, improve focus, increase flexibility and mobility, and to reduce inflammation and pain.

I work both on-site and remotely, and can implement a combination of both. Programs and services can include the following:
On-site observation, assessment and analysis of players with follow-up recommendations and program design.
Off-site recommendations and program design; referrals.
On-site yoga and meditation sessions
